EMPOWERING OUR COMMUNITY

DOING MORE FOR OUR

COMMUNITY

Since 1993, The Black CDC (formerly known as Canaan Community Development Corporation) has gone beyond the norms in terms of our aggressive efforts in developing programs that serves the total person in a holistic manner.

Hope Wellness Center exists to house shared space to medical professionals to offer high quality care, and prevention for West Louisville Residents.

The Sons of Issachar After School Academy serves male students in elementary

and middle school.

Opportunity Corner is a unique shipping container market place open year round serving the West Louisville neighborhoods and Louisville’s community at large.

The Ujima Experience exposes participants to the beauty, promise, and potential of West Louisville through touring and education.

The Black CDC* is making countless "human investments" that will ultimately produce "human capital." Human capital will pay future dividends of children growing up in safe and healthy environments, individuals purchasing single-family homes in non-traditional neighborhoods and rehabilitated communities becoming thriving economic centers.
